CNT 4XX1 - Data Analytics for Smart City & Transportation


Prerequisites: COP 2272C - Computer Programming 1  
Course Description: A Smart City is an urban area that relies on electronical sensors and communication technologies to supply information for the high-quality performance and interactivity of urban services. This course introduces the concept of a Smart City, its elements, relevant polices and technologies. The focus of the course is on the data generated in a Smart City and the effective measures taken to evaluate and improve a Smart City at different levels of development. Students will be instructed to analyze the data generated by connected travelers, vehicles and transportation infrastructure in a Smart City using a variety of analytical methodologies The course will also provide students with hands-on experience on the cost-benefit analysis of implementing Smart City polices and technologies.
